About me, my market, and what I love most about my work:
I’m a movie journalist living in Tokyo, and I write articles such as movie reviews and interviews for Japanese movie fans in a variety of media. Through encountering new movies every day, I learn about new talents, and how to express their wonderfulness in words. It’s both painful and gratifying work, and I enjoy the reactions to my writing.
This is my passion project, or passion in general:
Rather than being passionate, I value being able to face movies and interviews with an open mind.
What it means to me to be part of CCA:
Actually, I was invited to participate in the Golden Globe International Voters, but I decided to take part in the CCA. I hope I can vote for the awards from a unique perspective that is not based in North America.
My Favorite Film/ TV series that I am currently watching and why:
Among the movies I watched recently, All of Us Stranger was amazing. This is based on a Japanese novel, and it was made into a movie once in Japan, so the comparison was very interesting. And I’m definitely drawn to U.K. and Irish movies.
