About me, my market, and what I love most about my work:
My name is Stephen Silver, I’m in the Philadelphia region, and I’m unbelievably lucky that I’ve managed to make a profession out of writing about movies.
This is my passion project, or passion in general:
It’s both. I’m a journalist who covers other things besides film, but film is what I’m most passionate about.
What it means to me to be part of the CCA:
It’s a joy to be able to meet other critics from around the country, and to be part of awards shows.
My favorite film/TV series that I am currently watching and why:
Beyond Barbenheimer, Ari Aster’s Beau is Afraid is my favorite film of 2023. It was wonderful to see a director take such a major swing.
