About me, my market, and what I love most about my work:

I absolutely love movies! Being a professional movie critic in Puerto Rico is a dream come true. My journey into the world of cinema began when I was a child, thanks to my dad who would take me to Blockbuster every weekend. Those trips to the local video store were magical. I would walk through the aisles, gazing at the countless movie covers, feeling an overwhelming sense of anticipation. Choosing the perfect film for the weekend became a ritual, and my dad’s guidance and enthusiasm only fueled my excitement. From comedies to dramas, action-packed adventures to thought-provoking documentaries, Blockbuster had it all. Those movie nights at home, with popcorn in hand and the excitement buzzing in the air, were pure bliss. Movies opened up a whole new world for me, transporting me to different times, places, and emotions. The power of storytelling and the art of filmmaking captivated my young mind, and I knew from then on that movies would be an integral part of my life. Today, as I review films professionally, I can’t help but reflect on those cherished memories at Blockbuster, where my love for movies began. It’s a passion that drives me to explore the vast cinematic landscape, analyze performances, and share my insights with others. The influence of my dad and those early movie experiences will forever be etched in my heart, reminding me of the joy and wonder that movies bring into our lives.

This is my passion project, or passion in general:

La Oficina Geek, my very own media outlet, is a source of immense pride and fulfillment for me. Over the past three years, I have achieved a remarkable feat by reaching millions of people through my platform, simply by discussing and delving into the world of movies and series. It brings me immense joy and satisfaction when actors and directors mention the cool setup of my Geek office during interviews. This validation fuels my motivation and inspires me to work tirelessly every day to become a better film critic. La Oficina Geek is not just a profession, but a true passion that intertwines seamlessly with my love for the cinematic arts. It allows me to share my insights, analysis, and enthusiasm with a vast audience, connecting with fellow movie enthusiasts, and igniting conversations about the captivating world of film. It is an incredible privilege to witness the impact of my work and to know that I am contributing to the dialogue surrounding cinema. With La Oficina Geek as my compass, I am determined to continue growing, learning, and providing valuable perspectives to my dedicated followers and the wider film community.

What it means to me to be part of CCA:

Being a part of the Critics Choice Association holds immense significance to me, particularly as a Puerto Rican. It is an honor and a testament to the hard work and dedication I have put into my craft as a movie critic. Being a member of such a prestigious organization means being part of a community of esteemed professionals who share a common love and respect for the art of cinema. It provides me with a platform to contribute my unique perspective as a Puerto Rican, bringing diversity and representation to the forefront. The Critics Choice Association recognizes the importance of diverse voices in shaping the narrative of the film industry, and being a Puerto Rican member allows me to champion the stories, talents, and achievements of my fellow Puerto Rican and Latinx filmmakers. It is an opportunity to shed light on the richness of our culture and showcase the remarkable contributions we make to the world of cinema. Being a part of this association pushes me to continuously elevate my work, refine my critical analysis, and contribute meaningfully to the conversations surrounding the best of filmmaking. It serves as a reminder of the responsibility I hold as a critic, not only to provide insightful commentary but also to advocate for inclusivity and equity in the industry. Overall, being a part of the Critics Choice Association as a Puerto Rican fills me with immense pride and drives me to continue pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and making a lasting impact in the world of film criticism.

My Favorite Film/ TV series that I am currently watching and why:

Back to the Future holds a special place in my heart as my all-time favorite film. This timeless masterpiece, directed by Robert Zemeckis, effortlessly weaves together elements of science fiction, adventure, comedy, and heartfelt storytelling. From the moment Marty McFly hops into the iconic DeLorean time machine, I am transported on an exhilarating journey through time. The film’s clever and intricate plot, combined with its endearing characters, captivates me with each viewing. The dynamic between Marty (played by Michael J. Fox) and the eccentric Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) is nothing short of magical, creating an indelible on-screen chemistry that fuels the film’s charm. Moreover, the film’s impeccable attention to detail and brilliant screenplay ensure that every scene is layered with meaning and significance. Beyond its technical brilliance, Back to the Future is a true celebration of the human spirit, reminding us of the importance of friendship, courage, and the choices we make. It effortlessly blends nostalgia and excitement, leaving me with a sense of wonder and a smile on my face long after the credits roll. As I watch Marty race against time to set things right, I am reminded of the film’s enduring message: that our actions today can shape our tomorrow. Back to the Future continues to inspire me, not only as a film enthusiast but also as a believer in the power of storytelling to transport and transform us.
