About me, my market, and what I love most about my work:
While I’m based in Chicago, my readership stretches far beyond the United States alone. What I love most about my work is being able to attend film festivals and champion films that might not necessarily get the same attention as blockbusters.

This is my passion project, or passion in general:
I love movies. I fluked into film criticism, having initially moved to Chicago to study improv and sketch comedy. But a funny thing happened… I started writing regularly about film back in summer 2013 and the rest is history. I released a short film in September 2020 titled Pandemic Therapy. I have a few other screenplays in the works but it’s hard finding the time to write those with other aspects of my job as a critic, be it watching movies or TV, reviewing them, or interviewing the filmmakers/talent/crew that helped bring them to life.

What it means to me to be part of the CCA:
I’m honored to be a part of this larger community and getting to know my fellow critics. It’s a privilege that I don’t take for granted.

My favorite film/TV series that I am currently watching and why:
If I’m not doing another MCU or Star Wars binge, I’ll usually rewatch the Indiana Jones and Back to the Future films once every year or every other year. They’re the films of my childhood. I’m usually good for a Jurassic Park viewing annually because I’m not doing what I do without the Steven Spielberg masterpiece.
