Critics Choice Awards

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced that artist and actor Janelle Monáe will receive the seventh annual SeeHer Award at the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards. The honor will be presented to her at the star-studded Critics Choice Awards gala hosted by Chelsea Handler, which will broadcast LIVE on The CW on Sunday, January 15 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm ET.

“EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE” leads with fourteen nominations, followed by “THE FABELMANS” with eleven, while “BABYLON” and “THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN” tie with nine. The winners will be revealed at the star-studded Critics Choice Awards gala hosted by Chelsea Handler, which will broadcast LIVE on The CW from the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

“The Power of the Dog” led the winners in the film categories, taking home 4 awards including Best Picture, Best Director for Jane Campion; Best Adapted Screenplay by Jane Campion; and Best Cinematography for Ari Wegner.  “Belfast” and “Dune” both took home 3 awards each.

“Belfast” from Focus Features and “West Side Story” from 20th Century Studios lead this year’s film contenders, earning eleven nominations each.

HBO’s “Succession” leads this year’s TV contenders with eight nominations. In addition to Best Drama Series the show racked up a slew of acting nominations including nods for both Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong for Best Actor in a Drama Series.
