About me, my market, and what I love most about my work.
I am the film, TV & streaming critic for WHYY TV, Philadelphia & PBS.  Producer & host of Flicks (a short interview piece with stars & directors) & Quick Picks (a short “best bets” pick of films & TV shows), both syndicated on over a hundred PBS stations. Flicks is posted weekly on the national PBS website: www.pbs.org/show/flicks. I concentrate on filmcraft, not celebrity, & discuss it in a conversational style.

This is my passion project, or passion in general.
My goal is to illuminate the art and craft of making films and like projects in short bursts over many years so viewers learn about what goes into making the dramas & comedies that enrich our lives— but do so in a relaxed conversational manner so it does not feel educational.

What it means to me to be part of CCA.
I am a founding Member of what is now the Critics Choice Association. About 40 of us created it because the old line print critics associations would not take TV, radio or online critics seriously. The CCA has now surpassed them in terms of influence.

My Favorite Film/TV series that I am currently watching and why.
Glass Onion represents to me several things: fine writing, intricate directing, a perfect ensemble cast & the rise of streaming as the new reality in the post pandemic era.
