About me, my market, and what I love most about my work.
I’m currently the Film Editor for TheWrap but have been writing about movies for a variety of outlets. As one of the few physically disabled journalists currently working for a trade, I take my platform seriously, discussing representation in media and the need for people to feel seen on-screen. I love being able to celebrate cinema but also compel readers to look closer at the things they love and wonder who it represents.
This is my passion project, or passion in general.
Disability representation in film is a huge passion for me. But I also love celebrating Old Hollywood since you can’t know about why the films of the present are the way they are without looking at what came before.
What it means to me to be part of CCA.
It means that I’m part of a group of highly respected journalists and that my work means something.
My favorite Film/TV series that inspires/empowers me as a woman & why.
The Virgin Suicides or really any of the films directed by Sofia Coppola. I think her films truly encapsulate the way women have historically felt confined.
My Favorite Film/TV series that I am currently watching and why.
As a musical nerd and Turner Classic Movies addict, I absolutely love Schmigadoon. It’s a hilarious send-up of movie musicals while also fantastic in its own right.
