Darren Garrett is an Emmy Award-winning entertainment journalist. He has worked in top markets including Las Vegas, Chicago, Nashville, and Detroit. He is the entertainment producer for WJRT-TV (ABC12), overseeing the daily, live broadcast of Good Morning Mid-Michigan. He is also a senior producer at EqualPride, producing for their national magazine TV series The Advocates streaming now on Hulu. He also produces their (Telly, Communicator and NLGJA Excellence In Journalism Award-winning) annual national TV specials including The Out100 and Pride of Broadway (both streaming on Hulu and hosted by Sam Champion). He was previously the Executive Producer of the nationally syndicated entertainment news magazine show Celebrity Page TV and has also produced for WGN-TV, NBC Chicago, Scripps National News & FOX Las Vegas. He is a voting member of both the film and television branches of the Critics Choice Association and a member of the (Daytime Emmy-nominated) Critics Choice Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television Committee. He is also a voting member of GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.
