The Critics Choice Creator Awards Branch is open to professional critics and journalists who regularly cover digital creators, creator-led entertainment, digital media and/or the creator economy for an established audience.

Eligible coverage may include criticism, reviews, reporting, interviews, features, analysis or other original editorial coverage of creators and creator-led content across social media, digital video, podcasts, streaming platforms and emerging digital formats.

Coverage should demonstrate an ongoing professional focus on the people, programming, platforms and trends shaping the creator entertainment landscape.

All applicants must:

1. Demonstrate regular coverage of the creator space. Applicants must regularly produce original editorial coverage of digital creators, creator-led programming, digital entertainment and/or the creator economy. Applicants whose work consists primarily of promotional, marketing, publicity or sponsored content may not qualify.

2. Provide examples of recent work. Applicants must provide links or other verifiable examples of recent criticism, reporting, reviews, interviews, features or analysis demonstrating substantive coverage of creators and/or creator-led content.

3. Adhere to CCA professional standards. Professional behavior is required of all members. Acceptance into the Critics Choice Association is at the discretion of the CCA Board of Directors and its Membership Director, as is continued membership or expulsion.

Who Should Apply?

The Creator Awards Branch is intended for professional journalists and critics whose work includes meaningful, ongoing coverage of areas such as:

• Digital creators and creator-led entertainment

• Social media and digital video

• Podcasts and digital programming

• Scripted and unscripted creator content

• Digital documentary and informational programming

• Lifestyle and specialty creator content

• Digital sports and gaming content

• Creator industry news and trends

• The creator economy and its impact on entertainment and media

Being a content creator alone does not qualify an applicant for membership. Applicants must demonstrate a professional journalistic, critical or editorial role covering creators, creator-led entertainment and/or the creator economy.

Acceptance into the Creator Awards Branch is determined by the Critics Choice Association based on an applicant’s professional qualifications, body of work, audience and demonstrated coverage of the creator entertainment landscape.
