Mathilde Bernard was born in the south of Germany and studied politics and philosophy. She started writing for a weekly magazine when she was 14 years old and worked for a radio station and a private TV network. April started out in the news of the network then switched to culture and entertainment, doing film related stories and interviews since the mid 1990s.
