Regina Scruggs


Regina Scruggs, Broadcast Radio Professional, is based in Houston, Texas. She was most recently Program Director and Film Critic for UALR Public Radio, which consists of KLRE-FM (24-hour classical), and KUAR-FM (NPR news/talk/jazz). UALR Public Radio is licensed to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Arkansas.

She has been the Senior Film Critic for KUHF 88.7 FM Radio in Houston, TX; the producer and host of KUHF’s film soundtrack show, “Music From The Movies” and reviewed new movies and DVDs for KUHF’s website. She’s a founding member of the Houston Film Critics Society, formed in 2007.

She has interviewed Robert Redford, Debra Winger, Kevin Costner, Julianne Moore, Danny Glover, Mark Ruffalo, Gael Garcia Bernal, the Coen Brothers, Edward Burns, John Williams, Hugh Jackman, Baz Luhrmann, Michelle Pfeiffer, Stephen Frears, Hans Zimmer, Elliot Goldenthal, Daniel Radcliffe, Steven Soderbergh, and many others.

At the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, she was the only American journalist granted a sit-down interview with director Clint Eastwood and star Matt Damon for “Hereafter.” She was quoted in the national print ad for the film, which appeared in the Sunday New York Times. She was also quoted in two of the national TV commercials. Regina’s broadcasting career began over 30 years ago with radio stations in Wisconsin, Illinois, North Carolina, and Texas.
