From September 2011 to August 2012 Paige Wiser was half of the future award-winning team Paige & Plummer. She reviewed movies on “Windy City LIVE,” and interviewed stars; her favorites have been Robin Williams, Tom Cruise, and Mark Wahlberg, who didn’t get mad when she asked him what kind of underwear he had on.
She’s from Chicago’s Northwest suburbs, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame, and a master’s at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. Paige is an excellent speller, and is trying to pass on her high school French to her kids, Audrey and Jack. So far, the results have been tragique.
Paige spent 17 years with the Chicago Sun-Times, working as an intern, a copy editor, a designer, and a writer. She’s written columns devoted to late-night cable movies (“Camera Obscura”), celebrity biographies (“BioFeedback”), fringe entertainment (“Contrary to Popular Opinion”), and the meaning of life (“Planet Paige”). She reviewed movies when Roger Ebert took a pass (example: Tara Reid’s “My Boss’s Daughter”), and was most recently TV Critic.
Now she’s a writer for Michigan Avenue magazine, contributing cover stories on Rosie O’Donnell and Common, as well as back-page columns. You can find everything at paigewiser.com and paigeandplummer.com.
