Reviewing films for Memphis’ Fox 13 since the turn of the century, “The Movie Lady,” Linn Sitler is Memphis’ seemingly perennial movie critic. She has been seen and/or heard on Memphis airwaves with her movie reviews for decades. In 1979, Sitler first reviewed movies for Memphis’ NBC affiliate’s morning show, WMC-TV’s “Wake Up Call.” The 1980s followed a different career path — with Sitler out of the movie theaters and working as Memphis’ ”PM MAGAZINE” co-host/story producer/writer for three years. Then, a stint with “News Travel Network” in Sacramento followed — as an internationally syndicated consumer travel reporter/writer/field producer. Although nominated for an Emmy for her work on PBS Nashville’s WNPT’s “Tennessee Crossroads,” the 1990s saw her back primarily as a film critic — with weekly movie reviews on Memphis’ FM 100. Marking her thirteenth year at Fox13 as a film critic , Sitler’s weekly reviews keep her in touch with the world she loves best — movies. Holding an M.A. In Communications with a Concentration in Film & TV from the University of Memphis, Sitler has taught at the University and currently serves as a member of the Board of the College of Communication and Fine Arts.
