Biography:
Lou Gaul has worked for Calkins Media since 1973, serving as film critic for the chain, which has newspapers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. In addition, he has written for numerous publications, including Rolling Stone, Fighting Stars magazine, Atlantic City magazine and Video Business magazine. His "At the Movies" radio segment airs live every Friday at 11:30 p.m. on WPHT-AM/1210 (www.thebigtalker1210.com). Gaul has a master's degree in Cinema Studies from New York University and is an adjunct professor at Burlington County College (NJ), where he teaches American Cinema. In 1997, his book, "The Fist That Shook the World: The Cinema of Bruce Lee," a study of the cultural and cinematic impact of the martial-arts superstar, was published. In 2007, he was invited by the board of directors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to attend the Oscar ceremony as a guest of the academy at the 79th Academy Awards.
