Jonathan Mumm


Jonathan Mumm wrote his first news story for television at the age of 15 in his hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia for local TV station WLVA. While still in high school, he had his own show on local radio station WBRG, then went to work for WASH radio in Washington, D.C while attending college. After graduation he went to work for WETA-TV and public broadcasting as a booth announcer before starting his on-camera career as a sports reporter at WLVA-TV in Lynchburg.
His first movie review was the Bruce Lee film “Fists of Fury” for radio station WLGM. A dayplayer in Hollywood during the 1970’s he appeared in a number of episodic television shows (MEDICAL CENTER, MOVIN’ ON, NASHVILLE ’99) and industrial films before moving to Sacramento. Since the late 1980’s, he reviewed films and did entertainment reports for KXTV-TV, covering the Oscars from the backstage interview room.
Over his career, he has received 5 Emmy Awards for his feature series “California Postcard.”
