Arch Campbell







Arch Campbell has reported on entertainment and film since the 1970’s. He began his career in radio in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas, Texas moving into television at WFAA-TV in 1971. He joined NBC o and o WRC TV in 1974 and created that station’s entertainment beat, appearing two to three times daily including Monday through Friday on the top rated News 4 at 11. He provided syndicated movie reviews to NBC affiliates from the mid 1980’s to the early 1990’s. He also hosted a late night comedy program “The Arch Campbell Show” following Saturday Night Live that achieved unprecedented local tv ratings and success. After 32 years with NBC, Campbell joined WJLA-TV ABC7 News in 2007. He reports on new movies and entertainment trends five times a week.
In 2010 he began hosting “The Arch Campbell Show” on NewsChannel 8—a weekly half hour entertainment/comedy/talk show accessible on cable for multiple runs as well as on the internet at and on Facebook at Arch Campbell Show. National appearances include NPR, MSNBC, NBC, CBS and the Retirement Living Network. He has won eight Washington DC Emmy awards and in 2007 received the Mayor’s Arts Awards from the District of Columbia. He was selected a “Washingtonian of the Year” in 2015 by the editors of Washingtonian Magazine. Arch serves on the board of the Washington DC International Film Festival.
